A revised Peugeot 308 will arrive in Ireland in the autumn, ahead of the 181 registration period. There will be changes to the styling and the addition of advanced driver assistance systems and a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The bonnet has been redesigned and all Peugeot 308s will now have a vertical grille with badge in the centre and latest LED light siganture.
Trim levels will remain the same: Access, Active, Allure, GT Line, GT and GTi.
Inside the touchscreen has been updated with new graphics. Depending on trim, features include Active Safety Brake, Active Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Visiopark with 180° rear camera and Park Assist function, which measures the parking space available and steers the car in.
The Peugeot 308 will be still be available with a range of petrol and diesel engines, but with some changes.
The PureTech petrol engine has undergone a major upgrade to improve efficiency. High-precision injection control on the PureTech 130 S&S engine enhances combustion efficiency, and exhaust gases go through a catalytic converter, then a passive-regeneration gasoline particle filter. A new six-speed manual gearbox helps to maximise efficiency.
The revised Peugeot 308 is the first PSA group model to get the new BlueHDi 130 S&S diesel engine. This is a four-cylinder unit that also implements at-source and at-exhaust emission control.
The BlueHDi 180 S&S diesel engine, exclusive to the Peugeot 308 GT, gets a new 8-speed automatic transmission.
